Unless you rank #1 on page 1 for all of your keywords you should be seeking to increase your organic search results. No, that isn’t even accurate; even if you are ranking #1 page 1 for everything you should still want to increase your organic search results – more on this part later.
How to do this is actually quite straight forward. It’s not about tricks or rabbits or cards or something up one’s sleeves. It’s about competing for the shelf space (searchers eyeballs) using all of the elements of Internet Marketing including SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Social Media Optimization. Remember, 68% of online searchers don’t go past the first page and 98% don’t go past the 3rd page … AND … 85% of all Google Searches result only in an organic click – logical conclusion is that you want to be on page one organically because that is where the action is.
Here, in no order of importance, because they are all important are the processes to take to increase Organic Results:
- Review all of the SEO on-site elements of the website for every
web page on the site.- Make sure that all Titles are unique and fully reflect the content of
that page. - Make sure the descriptions follow the same mantra.
- Review all metadata to make certain that it too is fully reflective
of the page and the site. - Check the
coding of the site and all individual pages. Validate and check for any
and all errors and correct them immediately.
- Make sure that all Titles are unique and fully reflect the content of
- Analyze the competition that is ranking ahead of you. Determine any and
all advantages that the site has in terms of SEO; mainly, the backlinks …
how many, where do they come from. How long has the domain been registered. - Review the same stats for your site and compare. In all likelihood they
are ahead of you for one or more of the following reasons:- More Backlinks
- Better Quality Backlinks
- More indexed pages
- Higher Google Page Rank
- Site is older
- Popular in the Social Media and Social Bookmarking World
- Take out your calendar and give yourself some work to do:
- Write at least 2 articles per week and add it to your site. The articles
need to relevant, targeted at just one or two keywords at a time for effectiveness
and non-duplicate. - Index the
content by sending the new sitemap to the search engines. - Syndicate the content – learn how to do this OR hire a Professional
Internet Marketing Company to do it. Properly optimized and syndicated,
the resulting interaction will give birth to many highly relevant, naturally
occurring backlinks which is how to move up in the rankings, ultimately.
Significantly increasing your backlinks and maintaining and increasing
your link velocity are important factors towards increasing your Google
Page Rank as well. - DON’T STOP – this is a never ending process – you are competing with
others. You have to produce more quality and more quantity content and
it needs to be distributed better than your competition. - Write at least one Press Release per quarter and submit it for syndication
with an online syndicator. - Site Blog – yes, more content but that is what it takes. This is part
of what it takes to be recognized by the search engines and real people
as an “authority” in your field. - Setup Social Media Accounts
- Social Bookmarking Sites – Learn how they can bring you great traffic
- Digg
- Delicious
- StumbleUpon
- Industry Specific social bookmarking sites (do the research)
- Social Media – Research these and get involved
- Twitter – Microblogging – develop a following.
- Facebook – showcase your content and network at the same time.
- Linked In – same as Facebook with more of a professional emphasis.
- Many others – many useful
- Social Bookmarking Sites – Learn how they can bring you great traffic
- Install Analytics Software on your site. Regularly review stats to ascertain
the affects of all of your onsite and off-site optimization techniques.
Learn how to evaluate the statistics and then act on what the stats are
telling you to “optimize” the performance.
- Write at least 2 articles per week and add it to your site. The articles
- As referred to earlier, even if you are dominant for all of your keywords,
you can still increase your organic search results further by improving the
actual business results of your website. We call this Conversion optimization.
It is the optimization to maximize the percentage of visitors that actually
take the key conversion step whether it is an online purchase, completed form,
phone call, etc. It is not enough to get top rankings … it must translate
into bottom line ROI.
The outline of important steps necessary to increase your organic search results clearly translates into a lot of effort. Achieving great Internet Marketing results, search engine rankings, sales and leads require real conviction and commitment to the process. If you don’t have the time, as with anything else in life, if important, you must get this done with help. Hiring a Professional Internet Marketing Company who can demonstrate live and deep results for their clients is what you should seriously consider.
