If Nancy Pelosi Regulated Search Engine Results
Here is what’s included in the “economic stimulus package” passed by the House of Representatives this week:
1. Explosion of the Federal Debt to levels not seen since World War II.
2. $800-$900 Billion – More than the entire cost of the Iraq War.
3. Only about 20% will be spent in 2009 … most economists believe the recession will finally be over before 2010.
4. Massive new spending on social programs including prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (availability of condoms), student loan programs, clean water projects, net-neutrality (broadband cable to be accessible by any cable provider), expansion of unemployment to part-time workers.
5. More than another $125 billion on public education … a demonstrated history of failure. We are going to continue spending money on the education system. The problem is not that we haven’t spent enough money on our public schools.
6. $500 – $1,000 Rebate Checks – tried before and failed to stimulate anything.
7. $79 Billion to the States to help prevent governmental layoffs – more money to failed operations.
8. $400 million to study global warming
9. $600 million to “prepare” the country for universal healthcare (socialized medicine – a big failure in Canada, England and other countries)
And it goes on and on. None of this is going to stimulate anything but disillusionment, frustration and anger.
As an Internet Marketing Company, I sure hope they don’t get their hands on the search engines. We would probably have to give up all of our hard earned content, backlinks and resultant rankings for our clients to those “less fortunate.” Never mind that what we have is the result of hard work where we are forced to successfully compete to be relevant, seen and valued online. Many SEO companies sometimes lament and express fear about Google and privacy. I suggest that we keep a closer eye on Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the other folks in Washington that are looking for an ever-growing and controlling government.
