Google Local Search and How It Affects Small Businesses
You have probably noticed the fact that most searched now bring up local business results on Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) even if you do not put the location in the search query. Now, if you are asking the question, "Why are the local results showing up if I did not search for anything local?" you are asking the wrong question. The right question would be; "Why do I not show up in that list?"
Twitter and Spam
The growth of Twitter in the past two years is remarkable. Who would have thought that the universe could fit into 140 characters and the online social society would embrace such a questionable approach to communication? While nobody can really give specific answers to these questions, Twitter keeps growing. It’s still adding 10 million unique browsers a month. Twitter has now surpassed Digg, LinkedIn, NYTimes and even Bebo. Those stats do not even take into account those who are tweeting by cell phone. So, where is all this growth headed?

Was Google Down or Hacked Yesterday?
When I tried to access Google yesterday at about 10:30 AM EST in Miami FL, it loaded very slowly and none of the links were functioning. I experienced the same slowness on Gmail and Adwords. I have been using Google since 2001 and this is the first time this has happened.

Does Google See It All?
No one really knows what exactly Google is thinking and doing. The industry has its assumptions, data and case studies of how we think Google behaves and operates. Other than what they release in their corporate profile and the blogs of brains such as Matt Cutts and Avinash, we can only rely on our data and what we know actually works.

When Do Companies Stop Marketing: Success or Suicide?
It's no question that marketing is the first department to lose in economic downturns. Companies have already started cutting marketing jobs, canceling sponsorships, and scaling down budgets. While we all understand the necessity and the reasons behind it, I want to write about how big companies with unlimited resources freak out in a recession and lose opportunity.

Mobile Marketing Using Applications
It's unbelievable how the development of certain innovations significantly impacts the way we live and do business. If we mentioned anything Mobile in 2000 and asked business owners and executives to invest in the concept, most would have raised eyebrows.
Managing Your SEO Staff
There can be no question that the SEO process gets harder each day as technology advances and Google ups its game by introducing more ways to measure relevancy with its Search Technology. How do we as marketers, keep up with the changes and advancements, and make sure that we stay on top of our staff to improve their skills?
