R.I.P. Facebook Lite: Facebook Gets Rid of Facebook Lite
Personally, I didn’t care for the lite version of Facebook, which was supposed to take out the excess baggage that comes with the full site. I found it to be an utter waste of time. When I first went to the site I wasn’t surprised at how lame I found it to be, especially when most things “lite” are just… not as good (e.g. Lite Beer which has slightly less calories and much less flavor, Lite cigarettes, which are just as bad for you as regular cigarettes and let’s not forget Lite FM, which suits some, but definitely not the majority).
FourSquare Day: Changing the Marketing Landscape
FourSquare is a social network that allows you to “check-in” to a location, which then provides a Google Maps location of where you are. You can then share that information with other friends on FourSquare, as well as update your status on Twitter and Facebook. FourSquare Day takes this a step further by having specified location give incentives for consumers to check-into their locations to receive discounts or even free goodies.

Google Suggestions Gets an Upgrade
While Google’s suggestion search feature is nothing new it has become a very useful tool to many. I actually tweak my search queries when I see something that would probably give me better results. Recently Google decided to improve their suggestions search to include names and all spelling errors in 31 different languages. In addition, they now provided localized suggestions.
Invasion of Privacy for the Dalai Lama
“If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.” – Dalai Lama
Allegedly, through the months of January and November 2009 the Dalai Lama’s emails were being observed without his knowledge. While I don’t see how this would benefit the “Chinese gang of hackers”, apparently it just might.

Apple’s iAd Mobile Advertising Platform: Introducing iPhone 4.Evil
Sorry for the dramatic title, but I have to say I’m getting pretty tired of Apple taking advantage of everyone. It is without a doubt that Apple has great products, but the over-inflated sense of superiority that Apple has leads them to do things that most companies wouldn’t be able to get away with.

Reputation is NOT dead: Overlooking Indiscretions is Wishful Thinking
Michael Arrington recently wrote a post titled “Reputation Is Dead: It’s Time to Overlook Our Indiscretions.” He discusses how it is becoming increasingly more difficult to protect your online reputation these days and says that because of this we’ll have to overlook the questionable content we might see on the internet. Arrington says, “Employers just won’t care that ridiculous drunk college pictures pop up about you when they do an HR background search on you.”
Why is the Internet Obsessed with Lady Gaga?
While I can sometimes appreciate the shock value that is Lady Gaga, I cannot help but wonder why she is so popular on the internet. Mashable.com has probably written 20 posts on Lady Gaga within the last two weeks, which is more than one a day. It is a definite way to pull in traffic but causes the real news to fall to the wayside.

Yahoo iPhone Apps: Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search & Yahoo! Search App
Remember those Yahoo! commercials and the fun way they would say "YAHOOOO" at the end of the advertisement? Those were the days. But that was then and we’re in the now. Yahoo! has fallen behind pretty far in regards to its popularity and with that they really need to “step it up.”
