TV Viewers & Internet Users
My obsession with Twitter may be too much for my non-twitter friends to handle, but I think it’s about to get worse. The tweeter with over 700,000 followers @shitmydadsays has been picked up for a TV show with CBS.
Pepsi and Amp Energy Drink Use Twitter for an Application Apology
I have mentioned many examples before about larger, well known corporations that have started pushing diverse marketing strategies by utilizing social media. In this case, PepsiCo was able to unexpectedly receive free market feedback about a new application they released for the iPhone on Twitter. Unfortunately, the new app has received a lot of flack by Twitter users. Pepsi is usually a conservative company that has relied upon contracted artists to promote their brands.

Creative Ways to Use Twitter for Business
Funny as it is, the idea from this blog was spawned by a question asked to me by my mother. She is a real-estate agent in Los Angeles, and asked me if she should use Twitter to help grow her business. Without hesitation I said, “Of Course!” There are many ways that business owners and those who are self-employed can use the power of Twitter to their advantage. Twitter provides us with a near limitless platform to reach people in real time; it is really unlike anything out there. From real estate agents, food vendors, book stores, to any business that provides products or services; Twitter can grant you access to a large number of potential customers who already have the intent to spend.
How to Use #Trending Topics for Marketing
Twitter’s trending topics are the top ten keywords that are being tweeted at that time. Recently MJ has been a leading trending topic. The trending topics range from anything that has been in current events such as #iranelections, to #hashtag keywords that people create to start a twitter-wide conversation with topics such as #truth or #lies. Not all trending topics are #hastags, for example, the few non #hashtag trending topics right now are Chuck Norris, Michael Jackson, Harry Potter, Pirates, Sotomayor, and Bruno. Side Note: Hashtags are tags preceded by the “#” symbol and are generally used by Tweeps who wish to follow what is being said about a particular subject whether or not you are actually following the Tweeps.
Following Ashton
As of now, Ashton Kutcher has over 2.4 million followers on Twitter and counting. He has the most followers out of any Twitter account, outpacing the next person (Ellen DeGeneres) by almost 300,000. If this is news to you, you're probably wondering how Ashton Kutcher, a so-so actor, became the most popular twitter personality. Yes he is a famous celebrity, but plenty of famous celebs have twitter accounts. Why has his grown exponentially; how, and what has he done to take advantage of this?
