Save with Bing Cash Back

bing-cashbackMSN created the necessary hype when they re-vamped their MSN Live Search and launched Bing “a first ever decision engine”. Even with all of its prime time and internet marketing, as far as search engines go, Google still reigns supreme. Search engine marketing experts all agree that to knock Google off its high-horse is going to be a nearly impossible feat. However, even though Google is way ahead, that doesn’t mean Bing doesn’t stand a chance. Bing is staying in the game by focusing on other things that a search engine can offer.

I recently wrote a blog about Bing’s Faircast Technology that helps you find the best prices on a flight. I felt this was a good start in setting themselves apart from Google. Now Bing has introduced Bing Cashback. Bing is swiftly morphing into a search engine hub catering to people that want a one-stop shop for various needs.  Search engines index incredible amounts of information from millions of websites and Bing proves it understands that having the ability to produce search results can be used in more than one way.

Bing Cashback is for the online shopper (i.e. me and many of you).  I shop online for convenience, but more importantly I get the chance to research a product and find the best deal possible. When you visit Bing and click on Shopping, the page welcomes you with reviews of 5 star products, seasonal items, and cashback listings. This cashback feature is meant for you to search, shop, and save.

First you search for special cashback deals on Bing. There are several cashback listings posted on the shopping page. Click on the listing to find great deals on the product of your choice. In other words, these are items that Bing has indexed and retrieved various rates and further provide the prices on the same product on a range of websites.

Once you click on the product, all the choices will come up and you may sort the products in order to find which one has the best deal. You should see a cashback symbol when you make the purchase; if not, Bing will email you after your purchase to confirm your cashback reward.

When you purchase a product through Bing cashback, you may request to redeem your cashback on purchases after 60 days. I assume they have to give it a grace period in case a shopper returns merchandise, etc. Even if the cashback incentive does not kick in immediately, the search functionality that Bing offers is a great tool for finding the best price available for the item you are looking for. Have you used Bing cashback? Do you think Bing cashback is a good incentive for online shoppers?
