Marketing and Apple: Are they boring?

Marketing is tricky, especially when there’s much anticipation and different distribution channels. This was exactly the case when the specifics of the iPod were leaked before the actual unveiling, making the information at the event predictable and disappointing. However, this does not seem to make anybody talk less about Apple. They’re everywhere online; blogs, forums, articles, news and media. Apple has created a buzz and it works to their advantage. But, how are they able to keep doing this?

Internet Marketing – Allocation of Resources

Online marketing is broad with many different strategies to follow. The possibilities are almost endless and it’s impossible to use all channels of marketing. That’s one of the reasons marketers need to focus client resources on the channels that will be of more benefit to the client and the project at hand.

It’s essential that relevance and the right approach play a big role in the overall marketing strategy of a specific client. Here are some of the basic ideas I came up with;

Business Owners: Keep Your Eyes on the Ball!

by Arthur Cooper

Well, its been quite a week.  Including the effects of inflation, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is at least 20% below where it was 10 years ago!  We will see layoffs in the 6 figures for many months now and we’ll probably see unemployment rates north of 7%.

Our government is nothing short of embarrassing.  As opposed to Michelle Obama, this is not a time that I feel very proud of my country.  Don’t misunderstand me, I love my country and believe that we will work through this and emerge stronger.  It will take time and it will get worse before it gets better.

How to Control Your Web Project

by Duran Inci

Outsourcing and dealing with Customized Web Projects is hard work. Managers must make sure that deliverables are accurate and deadlines are realistic and firm.. Delivery delays, errors in development can lead to lost business, less ROI and lost opportunities … even over the long run.

Managers must make sure that they do the right kind of screening for candidates. Some of the most important factors while choosing a company to work with on a web project are;

  • Make sure that it’s a full service company who can handle the whole project as well as any developments in the future.

High Search Engine Rankings – You have to EARN them!

by Arthur Cooper

The ongoing financial panic and crisis continues to concern and frighten people from all walks of life.  There will be a bail out, in all likelihood, to stave off economic catastrophe … at least for awhile. So, what does this have to do with High Search Engine Rankings and Internet Marketing?

After the dust settles and most breathe a sigh of relief that the world as we know it isn’t really coming to an end, the blame game will ensue.  The conservatives will blame the liberals, the liberals will blame the conservatives and we will be back to posturing and the endless, mindless Washington politics that get us nowhere.

Financial Panic and Your Business

by Arthur Cooper

Well, we all saw the latest example of Capitalism at its worst this past week with the demise of Lehman Brothers, the bail out of Fannie and Freddie, and the $85 Billion Government line of credit for AIG.  Stock prices went through violent convulsions with record swings involving almost 1,500 points in the Dow.  What a ride!

When You Have to Fire an SEO Client

If you are in business and providing services, you have problem clients for one reason or another.  SEM Companies who are serious about what they do and what they need from their clients are no exception.

This is not about a slow payer, non-payer or delinquent accounts receivable.  It is not about someone who is nasty or abusive.

It is about commitment.

We started providing service within the past year for a client involving some website and e-commerce redesign and full blown Search Engine Optimization to generate high organic rankings.  The website and shopping cart redesign all went well and the newly updated site was launched on time with all functionality intact.  The SEO proceeded well too and we achieved some great rankings.

Google and Privacy and “1984″

This is another in a series of adjustments to their privacy policy originally announced to the public in March of 2007.  Ever since, a great deal of consternation and nervousness has ensued.  Some may call this paranoia, others may call it a perfectly reasonable concern.

While this still will not satisfy many who are nervous or frightened that Google will gain untold power and access towards controlling activities and behaviors that would encroach on people’s privacy, individualism, freedom and liberty, it does demonstrate that Google is sensitive and is responding to public opinion and outcry.

ONLINE MARKETING AND INNOVATION – Guide to Marketers

How can we differentiate ourselves from the competition? So many companies are using the same methods and following the same procedures to create results for their clients. I have been hearing that a lot recently at events and conferences.  It seems to be a huge concern for companies who feel they cannot grow anymore or who feel they have hit a ceiling in their markets.

Google Rankings and Reality

Is it really possible? How do you do it? What does it take and is that enough? I hear these questions all the time from friends, colleagues and clients. It seems impossible for some people to achieve top rankings on Google Search Result Pages. Most of the time, the reaction is, “Did you do that?” once they see the results I produce. So on this post, I’d like to answer these questions once and for all.

Is it possible?
