Google Xistence: Phishing Scam for Social Media Users

It’s not quite April Fool’s Day yet, but someone may have just pulled one of the biggest pranks on Google fans yet. Google Xistence is nothing more than a hoax by someone who clearly has extra time on his hands and isn’t quite sure what to do with it.

My boss was listening to NPR on his drive to work, and apparently they discussed this new application as though it were really being offered by Google Inc. Although it wasn’t quite the War of the Worlds broadcast, it definitely sparked some curiosity.

Google Leaving China: Reality or Unrealistic Activist Hopes?

Google Leaving China: Reality or Unrealistic Activist Hopes?Recently, Google received a hacking attack into its corporate infrastructure. The company has “…evidence to suggest that a primary goal of the attackers was accessing the Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists,” stated Google in a blog post, bringing light to the attack on expression as available through internet content viewable by Chinese citizens.

While China says it wants to protect its citizens from the Internet’s “immoral and harmful content,” the actions of this attack speak volumes in the silence that citizens are forced into with regard to freedom of speech.

Predictions for the Mobile Advertising Industry

Predictions for the Mobile Advertising IndustryiPhone and Android users now account for 82% of US mobile web traffic , which is surprising to me considering both parties combined have a Global Smartphone Marketshare of16.5%.
