Apple Host iPhone Event Oct. 4

For the past week the media and tech industry has been a buzz online about the cryptic “Let’s talk iPhone” invitation Apple recently sent out to major media outlets. The mysterious invitation entailed that simple phrase and image of Apple icons indicating the time, location and date of October the fourth. Beyond those facts, there has been much speculation on what Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook may be discussing and unveiling in this new era.

Consumers have been waiting for a new iPhone for almost a year; the consensus and prognostications online indicate there will at least be definitive updates to the software, and most likely the hardware as well. Many also have wondered if the retired Steve Jobs will make an appearance at the Media Event.

Apple’s recently released software is expected to receive a definitive update along with a new version of the iPhone at the event. Apple’s rumored recent prohibition of employee vacation requests lead many to believe the release of the new iPhone is nearby in October; this time period is similar to previous release seasons in the past years for Apple.

With Black Friday and Christmas looming, it would make quite a bit of sense to get the new Apple versions out now. It is not unreasonable to expect or anticipate Apple to release both an iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 with new iOs5 software and corresponding updated hardware features on each. Months of rumors have iPhone consumers expecting a wider, slimmer phone with larger buttons and a better camera at the least.

After the recent retirement of former CEO and Apple Founder Steve Jobs, there was a large degree of speculation about the future of Apple. The fact is Apple is about to unveil the newest and most advance product-line to date while company shares are at an all time high. Executive officers and Jobs alike have endorsed Tim Cook as new CEO; this event opportunity is an opportunity for Cook to announce the new direction and business model for Apple. Cook is not expected to re-invent the wheel at Apple but company will develop under his discretion into the future.

Another intriguing aspect of this mysterious Apple October symposium is the question of whether or not Steve Jobs will actually be present. Many have been wondering what future role Jobs will have with the company and just how hands on or interested will Jobs be in Apple’s future. There are also the possibilities Jobs could quickly move n to other ventures or take an extended period off or never do anything innovative again in the tech industry. It will be interesting to many people what Steve Jobs has to say if anything at all.

Apple has been being quite guarded about this entire new line of iPhone products for some time now. The products release by the company has often changed and pioneered the industry, so there is some validity to the limit Apple has put on available information about the new line. Apple provides a high end product and has established a strong niche with incredibly goodwill. The company has not often made mistakes, so the anticipated wait in secrecy and rumors is most likely worth it until October fourth.
