Apple’s App Store Purge: App Ban Round 2

It seems that Droid’s and Verizon’s attacks on the iPhone, citing the multitude of useless apps, and lack of certain functionalities has lead to a reaction by Apple to take charge and clean up their cluttered app-store.

Proof of Print in the iPad: The Wired Magazine App

Apple created a huge buzz and a sense of mystery and anticipation for the iPad, but it ultimately fell victim to mixed reviews. Most headlines about the iPad pinned the product against the Kindle by Amazon. I was one of those consumers that were not very motivated by the new product, but then I saw the new application released by Wired Magazine and I quickly saw how this product will play a big role in being a game changer in the print industry.

Is Amazon Ready for the Apple iPad?

Days ago Apple unveiled the Apple iPad and in a prior post I mentioned how Apple’s partnerships with print media and textbook companies will peg the iPad as a possible threat to the Amazon’s Kindle. Kindle is trying to think ahead, and Kindle enthusiasts say that the iPad will not be a direct threat.

Apple’s A4 Chip for iPad

There are mixed reviews about the iPad at this point, most referencing the horrible name that Apple opted to go with. Instead of focusing on this tablet that is definitely tailored to those with disposable money versus those looking for something with functionality, I will focus on one of the details that Apple hasn’t emphasized too much; the A4 chip within the iPad.

2010 has arrived, and although we’re not at The Jetsons status yet, the first decade of the millennium brought a lot of new technology that has changed many facets of the way we live. Many, myself included, will forget that some of the things we use everyday are less than a decade old.

5 Reasons to Get the New iPhone 3Gs

My phone has been acting up lately. I don’t have a Smartphone, but desperately need to get one. I am stuck with a Samsung tailored to Metro PCS, and not a very good one at that. You can’t really beat the unlimited service and amazing prices, but I think it’s time for a change. I have stuck to my guns long enough now. I use to think that the phone craze would die out so I neglected to spend big on a cell phone. This was probably due to the fact that I am sort of anti-trend, and that my average phone life was less than 3 months. In spite of all this, I am extremely tempted to get the new iPhone 3Gs.

Marketing and Apple: Are they boring?

Marketing is tricky, especially when there's much anticipation and different distribution channels. This was exactly the case when the specifics of the iPod were leaked before the actual unveiling, making the information at the event predictable and disappointing. However, this does not seem to make anybody talk less about Apple. They're everywhere online; blogs, forums, articles, news and media. Apple has created a buzz and it works to their advantage. But, how are they able to keep doing this?

Why I obsess over Web Standards

I was recently reading an article on how Microsoft dropped the ball on developers and why several of them started to switch over to MAC OS X. Then I realized that the problem with Microsoft is that it represents the global large corporate mentality, mediocrity and lack of innovations. This is why Google is #1 and this is why no matter how much money a large company throws at the small competition, they can't keep up.
